| Mr. Shyam Benegal at ISCOM |
|
International School of Corporate Management (ISCOM), Baner, Pune hosted a visit by Mr. Shyam Benegal, the noted film maker, MP (Member Advisory Committee of ISCOM) on 4th July '08. Mr. Benegal was briefed about the programmes and achievements of the Institute and the excellent placements of the maiden batches, by Prof. Keshav Rae, Director, ISCOM. He later interacted with the students of PGPCS and PRISM batches, spoke about his experiences and evinced keen interest in the aspirations of students. He also emphasised that cinema being a powerful medium has helped him tremendously in conveying a social responsibility message through all his films.
He was effusive in his praise for the progress ISCOM had made in the brief period of just 2 years since its inception. He specifically remarked about the excellent infrastructure and expressed happiness at the positive vibes he received during the entire visit. Mr. Abhay Munot, President, ISCOM was also present on the occasion. |

The convocation ceremony of the graduating batches of PGPCS-I and PRISM batches I and II was held at FTII, Pune. Prof. Ashok Misra (Director-IIT, Bombay) was the Chief Guest who presented the graduating certificates to the students.ISCOM has instituted a scholarship consisting of cheque of Rs. 50,000 for PGPCS and of Rs. 25,000 for PRISM. The scholarship is presented to the students who have been judged as all round topper of their respective batches. The scholarship for PGPCS batch-I was awarded to Mr. Devendra Singh. |
| Prof Keshav Rae, Director-ISCOM, has instituted a special award called 'Rae Award' consisting of a cheque of Rs. 5001 and a trophy in memory of his parents Late Mr. Hakikat and Late Mrs. Krishna Rae and it is given to the academic topper. The winner of Rae award from PGPCS batch-I was Miss Anushree Dullar. Mrs. Manju Rae along with Director, Prof. Keshav Rae presented the award. The scholarship and Rae awards for PRISM batches I and II were presented during their respective passing out ceremonies at the institute. The scholarship for PRISM batch I has been awarded to Mr. Alok Haldar. A special scholarship of Rs. 10,000 was instituted for the PRISM batch I. The winner of this scholarship was Mr.Yogiraj Sanas. The Rae Award for PRISM batch I has been given to Mr. Ashley Joseph. For PRISM batch II the scholarship has been awarded to Mr. Kapil Paun. Rae award for PRISM batch II has been awarded to Ms. Anshika Modi.

| PRISM honours Cyber Security Day |

International School of Corporate Management(ISCOM) , Baner organized a Campus event on the occasion of Cyber Security Day. Mr. Rohas Nagpal, President, Asian School of Cyber Laws was the Chief Guest. The event was attended by invitees, staff and students of ISCOM. Mr. Nagpal, in his key note address, stated that the incidents of cyber crimes are rising by the day and Pune is developing into the cyber crime capital of the country. He said that using costly tools to counter cyber crimes is not enough. Constant alertness regarding cyber security was imperative.
Mr. Nagpal apprised the audience that the Indian IT Act was quite exhaustive and laid down deterrent punishments for cyber crimes. Earlier, while welcoming the chief guest, Lt Col(Retd.) Vijay Nair, Registrar of ISCOM stated that there is a misconception that IT professionals can handle information security tasks.

Information Security requires specific training and it was with this end in mind that ISCOM conducts a high-end programme called PRISM, of one year duration in Information Security Management beside other management programmes. Prof. Keshav Rae, Director ISCOM in his address highlighted the mission of ISCOM to deliver high quality education supported by cutting edge infrastructure and continuous student mentoring. He also spoke about the high standard of the Faculty and the student-centred and result-oriented ethos of the Institute which are yielding results. Prof Rae also mentioned about MIEL e-Security Pvt. Ltd. as being ISCOM's knowledge partners for PRISM and that this course carries confirmed placement with MIEL e-Security. The event which received favourable reviews in the press achieved its purpose of raising awareness about internet security and computer security issues among the audience. |

| ISCOM - Contributing to Bihar Flood Relief |

Mr Abhay Munot, President- ISCOM, visited the flood affected areas in Bihar and inter-acted with the victims about the Relief and support they are getting from various sources. After observing the over-all situation and scenario, he said that we all should be very much concerned about the horrifying and devasting flood that recently occured in Bihar where-in several lacs of houses were rapidly submerged and soiled completely- clothes, food grains destroyed with no lights, no phones and no other source of communication of what's happening in the world, which left everyone in a state of shock and devastation. It has really been a most wrenching situation with lot of poverty around.
The Keshargulab Munot family hailing from Pune & Ahmednagar has always been instrumental and concerned about the affected people in various disasters and calamities. In this context the family in their wisdom extended Monetary support of Rs 16 lacs whole-heartedly towards the uphill task of Re-habilitation of flood affected regions in Bihar and in the fulfillment of their daily needs undertaken by the Bhartiya Jain Sanghatana's Disaster Rescue team under the able leadership of Mr Shantilal Mutha, president- BJS. |

| Blood Donation Drive By ISCOM |

| On the occasion of the 98th birth anniversary of Shri Chandmalji Munot , the patron Trustee of Shri Chandmal Munot Trust in whose lasting memory the International School of Corporate Management, Baner has been established, the students and staff of the Institute organized a blood donation camp on the Campus, on 29th September 08. The camp was established by the blood bank of Ruby Hall clinic. Inaugurating the camp Mr. Abhay Munot, grandson of Shri Chandmalji Munot and President of the trust , stated that his grandfather was a man of Gandhian philosophy and it is only because of his vision and the ethos inherited in the coming generation that you all are seeing ISCOM in existence today.

| Visit to Blind School |
| All the students, staff and faculty members of ISCOM visited the 'Poona Blind School for Boys' in Koregaon Park. The students from ISCOM organized song and dance competitions for the kids and also played games with them. All the students as well as the kids thoroughly seemed to enjoy the whole event. After the activities were over, the kids were served with snacks. The students distributed prizes to the winners and put little bit of dry color on the kids' forehead as a token of celebrating holi. |
