| Pedagogy - |
Effective pedagogical methods are adopted to assure effectiveness of course delivery . 40% of the assessment is based on continuous assessment.
• Salient features are:
• Greater focus on Learner led learning than trainer-led learning.
• Students are guided about the topic(s) to be taught in the following session and instructed to come prepared for discussing the topic(s).
• Exercises in the form of case studies, problem solving, practicals, numericals, assignments, short / topic level research projects followed by presentations thereon, viva etc formthe basis of course delivery once theory / principles are discussed. This helps in learner-led learning.
• Min. 4 continuous assessment excercises totaling 40 marks are conducted for each subject during the term based on exercises at para c) above.

PGP in Corporate studies (PGPCS) a full time course of 22 Months (comparable to MBA) : |
The flagship course offered by ISCOM is a 22-month full-time Post Graduate Programme in Corporate Studies (PGPCS) which is an autonomous course comparable to MBA. PGPCS offers dual specializations in sought after areas of management and has a strong industry focus. Each student is given a laptop and the Wi-Fi campus provides students constant internet access. Students are also taken on an international study tour as a part of the Course to expose them to International Business Environment.
• Dual Specialization : Major and Minor.
• International Study Tour for PGPCS : To get first hand exposure to International Business Environment. The students spend half a day interacting with International Corporates and half a day seeing the Country.
• Tie - ups with corporates for continuous assignment online : We have arranged with number of corporates wherein the students are offered as trainees to corporates. Key executive of corporates assign projects to the students to work on and the same is done online. This is a continuous process and if a student leaves after the course, the next student takes on the assignment. This is done only after class. Needless to say this experience exposes the students to corporate culture and work ethics.
• University of Cambridge : Having a certificate which is internationally recognized is an important consideration. Learning the right kind of English skills at right level is also vital. The University of Cambridge is the second oldest university in the world for English speakers. ISCOM has collaborated with Cambridge ESOL's for Business English Certificate . Internationally recognized, it shows your employer what skills you have in using English in the work place.
• Detailed Soft Skills classes every day : The Director daily lunches with 8 students wherein the finer points of table manners and etiquette are explained. Additionally detailed soft skills classes are held by the Director.
• Concept of Course Heads for Specialization : Course Head is responsible for total delivery of subject.
• Counseling each day with one student by the Director himself : The Director himself counsels each student where in an open discussion is held between the two, entirely for improvement in all aspects of life at the institute.
• Substantial time spent on Personality Development of students : This involves complete training of students in day to day life so as to be adaptable when they join a corporate.
• Mentor and Buddy systems : Group of students attached to a Mentor who is a faculty wherein basic requirement to make the student feel at home and crease out all the difficulties. In the Buddy system a junior is attached to a senior who shares his experiences enabling the junior to do his assigned project and classwork efficiently and effectively.
• Industrial Visits : The whole batch is sent for industrial visits, to industries in and around Pune, so as to make the students familiar with the functioning of the industries.
• Social Responsibilities : The institute endorses and supports social activities undertaken by the students. They have been involved in various activities, like Blood Donation Camps, Working with certain NGO's, Launching Tree Plantation Drives, Environment Conscious Projects and have also done assignments for Military Games 2007 as well as for CYG 2008.
• Guest Lectures : We have eminent speakers coming in from various Industries, interacting with the students and sharing their vast experience and knowledge with them. It provides the students with valuable insights about the functioning of the corporate world.
• Clinical Faculty : Is a faculty who evaluates and analyses the absorption level of classroom indulgence by the students and various methodologies are used by Clinical Faculty to achieve this bottom line.
• Cut off 50% for Admission : According to current scenario, ISCOM's eligibility criteria for admission has been raised to 50%. Only in exceptional cases in this relaxed.
UGC Approved MBA : ISCOM is now the Learning Center of Sikkim Manipal University; it is one of the reputed universities in India. It is related to health, medical and technological science, established 1995. It also involves MBA degrees, ISCOM has collaborated with SMU, and it will be beneficial for the students who are willing to pursue their MBA with PGPCS.

Golf Management & Golf Course Management from |
In our quest for innovation we have now entered the niche segment of Golf to conduct a full time course in “Golf Management” that will equip the participants to effectively manage a complete Golf and Country Club type operation. The course curriculum embodies the basic academic content of our existing Post Graduate Programme in Corporate Studies (PGPCS), covering the full range of fundamentals of management combined with the golf related academic curriculum including 5-6 Months on the job training in Scotland. Our knowledge partners, Golf Specialist Elmwood College, St. Andrews, Scotland, UK.
Elmwood College offers a dual certification, one in Golf Management and the other in International Golf Course Management. These programmes are certified by the Royal and Ancient Club of St. Andrews (R&A) and the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA).
Facilities : The competitive advantages and features of the Institute are top of the line infrastructure like air – conditioned classrooms, a well stocked library and a full-fledged computer laboratory. The campus is Wi-Fi connected with broadband connectivity line for 24-hours internet access. All the computers are e-mail and internet enabled. Institute also provides laptops to all students attending the Post Graduate Programme in Corporate Studies.
Social Responsibilities : Another aspect of training given due weight age is developing awareness about corporate social responsibility. Toward this end, students are encouraged to participate in tree planting, blood donation camps, and in events that provide opportunity for constructive interaction with the poor, destitute and the disabled within the society.
Participation in National Activities : Students of ISCOM participated in organization of Transport and Logistics Planning for Military World Games 2007 and nine students were commended by Lt Gen (Retd) Ashok Kapur, PVSM, VSM, who had conducted the event. On similar lines, students of ISCOM have developed a travel plan for Commonwealth Youth Games 2009. ISCOM has won the Best National College Award at ‘DRISHTI 08-09’& First Runner up Award at “DRISHTI 09-10” organized by S.V.K.M’s N. M College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai.
The Institute functions with the firm commitment that a student on successful completion of the course will be a complete individual, who, will earn a suitable placement with a leading corporate and thereby contribute to the Corporates as well as develop himself/herself further.
